Histoire
Between the urban bustle of Denver and the high-stress environment of a career in neurosurgery, Maggie Sullivan has hit a wall. When an emergency high-risk procedure results in the death of a teenager, Maggie finds herself in the middle of a lawsuit - and experiencing levels of anxiety she's never faced before. She knows she needs to slow down before she burns out completely, and the best place she can think to do that is Sullivan's Crossing.

good narration but boring story
Évalué le: 2024-07-21
This was such a dull story I almost quit listening after the first few chapters. Thought it might get better so I stuck it out but it did not. There are practically no likeable characters. In fact the main character is almost unlikable. Waste of a few hours of my life.

Histoire
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

great narration

This was a light hearted funny story for the most part. The narration was top notch. Pretty predictable but what rom-com isn't. Except about two thirds in when the rom hits the com dissapears and it's pretty much unbearable to listen to. It's like listening to a 15 year old talk in excruciating detail about her crush in the most cring worthy way. Had to stop myself from fast forwarding to the end. Which was not bad. Definitely could have skipped a few chapters to get there. All in all decently entertaining.
