Help:Translation
These are just basics for simple pages *(like Main pages of each Spore).
To use MediaWiki’s in-built translation interface, you need to use the Source Editor and you need Translation-admin to help with setup. Of course, you can write the content using Visual Editor first.
MediaWiki will do most of the work of marking (and tracking) individual translatable segments for you, but you need to declare
at the top of the page (MediaWiki will replace this with the language-selector bar)...and wrap translatable text with
...
and bear a few things in mind.
Tips and Tricks
Do translation only when structure and content are more-less stable.
Not all text in the page needs to be marked for translation.
Things that should not be translated (such as an image tag), should be kept outside the tags. Make sure the headings have space between them and the text and then it Should Just Work™.
After text input and each change ask for translation-admins to mark it for translation or update.
