Policy Shapers are experts in their field of interest and play a central role in the ongoing development of Volt Europa’s policy portfolio. By working collaboratively with other Policy Shapers, National Policy Leads and other Volt members, and by seeking input from external stakeholders, they craft policies and identify and share best practices. They are also responsible for ensuring that Volt’s policies are brought to the attention of other thought-leaders and the general public through networking and external outputs.
The Thematic Communities Lead is responsible for establishing and supporting Volt’s Thematic Communities. Volt Communities are informal groupings of Volt members working on a variety of grassroots activities, from policy development to project building and execution, outreach and engagement with external parties. Essentially, they bring Volt’s ideas and policies into the ‘real world’, changing society for the better. The Thematic Communities Lead ensures that Thematic Community core teams have access to the support and resources they need to operate, and facilitates communication between the Communities and EUR Policy Team. As this is a new role to support the newly established initiative of Thematic Communities, there is considerable scope for creativity. Responsibilities will evolve over time and be shaped by the Communities Lead(s) themselves.
