The strategic partnership arrangements on Climate Change Adaption & Water Management and Agriculture highlight the efforts of the Embassy.     📌 [Important updates]   Earlier in July, the new cabinet in the Netherlands was sworn in.   The name of our ministry has been officially changed to: Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, or in Dutch: het Ministerie van Landbouw, Visserij, Voedselzekerheid en Natuur (#LVVN in short, instead of old name LNV).   On this occasion, please also join #LAN_Vietnam team to welcome Mrs. Femke Marije Wiersma, new Minister of LVVN and the new State Secretary for LVVN, Mr. Jean Rummenie!   ⏩ You can read more information at: https://lnkd.in/gQCzfham   LVVN works on sustainable food production, a valuable natural environment and thriving rural areas.   • Vietnamese students at the Eindhoven Semiconductor Summer School: ‘Veel succes’! Five (05) talented Vietnamese Master students in #STEM have been selected to attend the Eindhoven Semiconductor Summer School (#ESSC) from 26-30 August 2024 in The Netherlands, with the sponsor from the Dutch government and the Eindhoven University of Technology. They are the first 🇻🇳 students to attend this course. An unique program is waiting for them in #Eindhoven, packed with lectures and visits to world-leading enterprises, including ASML, NXP Semiconductors and others. Students will gain insights of the latest technology developments, sector updates, hands-on experience, and the opportunities to discuss with and learn from international professors, CEOs and peer students. On 17 July, the NL Embassy and CG in Vietnam, together with Nuffic Southeast Asia, co-hosted a Welcoming session to share the essential information with the students to prepare for their departure to the Netherlands next month. Let’s wish them a successful summer school in the Netherlands!

  • Consul General Daniël Stork paid a visit to Dutch business software creator and developer Infodation Vietnam Recruitment in the beautiful natural environment of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa, Khánh Hòa, Vietnam province. The CG had an inspiring exchange with the management team on the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Vietnam and on ways to support Dutch businesses in Vietnam. It was stimulating to see the buzzing atmosphere of the talented team on the work floor of Infodation. The company originates from Bodegraven in the Netherlands and has grown from strength to strength over the past 14 years in Vietnam. Keep up the good work!

  • The Netherlands is proud to support the "Reducing plastic bags, nourishing the seeds of life" online contest, aiming to promote plastic bag-free shopping in the public. “In the Netherlands, we understand the importance of government, private sector, and community coordination to reduce plastic bag and single-use plastic product consumption. Every small action can make a big difference for the environment, and each of us can help reduce global plastic pollution”, said Ambassador Kees van Baar, jury member of the "Reducing plastic bags, nourishing the seeds of life" contest. The contest is part of the "Plastic Free Day in Vietnam” campaign, an initiative to reduce plastic bags consumption and contributing to the process of changing customers’ behaviours in not using single use plastic bags. The campaign is organised with the participation of Alliance of Retailers’ members, implemented by the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (#ISPONRE), the Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT) of Hanoi, with the support from the Netherlands Embassy, WWF-Vietnam, IUCN/VB4E, VSF and Pacific Environment Organisation.

  • On Saturday, July 6th, the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) celebrated its 35th anniversary with the inauguration of the Friendship Pine Garden. The ceremony saw participation from representatives of 25 Consulates General and 30 Friendship Associations. Consul General Daniël Stork and Chairman Trần Trọng Dũng of the Netherlands-Vietnam Friendship Organization unveiled the pine tree dedicated to the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In a reflective interview, the Consul General emphasized the importance of global cooperation in environmental conservation. Located on the hills of Linh Cung Thap Nhi Giap and Phuc Cung Tam Phuoc Square, the Friendship Pine Garden spans over 10,000m2.   • Look back: The Netherlands - Hung Yen Province to explore more business cooperation Last week, on June 26th, the Netherlands Embassy visited Hung Yen Province together with the Dutch Business Association Vietnam DBAV 🇳🇱. Chargé d’Affaires Christoph Prommersberger had a courtesy call to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Hung Yen People’s Committee. During the meeting, Chargé d’Affaires emphasized the excellent economic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands and expressed interest in exploring future economic cooperation with the province of Hung Yen. The delegation also visited the Hung Yen Business Association (HYBA) to explore trade and investment opportunities.   • On 2 July, the new government was sworn in by His Majesty King Willem-Alexander at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague. Minister of Foreign Affairs Caspar Veldkamp and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Reinette Klever have signed the official hand-over of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Netherlands will continue to be a trustworthy partner within the European Union, United Nations, NATO and beyond.
