In our work on #BrightFutures, a collaborative program designed by Doodle Design and IDEO.org, funded by Primark and Standard Chartered, we learned that money often acts as a commanding yet unspoken force, influencing decisions and relationships, despite rarely being discussed. Designing to erase this taboo became one of our central challenges. By introducing Money Personalities through a cast of characters that mirror the financial behaviors and mindsets, we are able to help workers connect with their financial habits and make healthier money decisions, proving that tailored financial education truly transforms lives. From anxious savers and future planners, to more casual spenders, these Money Personalities have brought each worker’s financial story to life. This has created an environment where workers feel empowered to ask questions and talk openly about their finances. Let’s hear their stories. Last week, we held our second workshop in the Design Thinking series with Chris Elkin. Chris’s exceptional facilitation helped us dive deep into both the frameworks and techniques of Design Thinking, as well as how to effectively use them to frame and address key business challenges. We are thrilled to introduce Bright Futures, a collaborative program designed by Doodle Design, Vietnam based Human Centered Design/Innovation Firm and IDEO.org, a global Innovation firm, funded by Primark and Standard Chartered. This project aimed to equip garment workers with the knowledge and confidence to manage their finances at a moment when wage digitization was growing more prevalent, introducing workers to new pathways towards financial inclusion. How might breaking the silence around money transform lives? In our work on Bright Futures, we learned that money often acts as a commanding yet unspoken force, influencing decisions and relationships, despite rarely being discussed. Designing to erase this taboo became one of our central challenges—only by creating an environment where workers felt empowered to ask questions and talk openly about their finances, could we encourage new behaviors around money management. In just 40 minutes, our GIMO (YC W22) team generated a whopping 386 ideas! That's the power of Design Thinking. 🤯 Last week, I had the opportunities of learning from Chris Elkin from Doodle Design. While I've been familiar with Design Thinking since my NEU days, this training was a game-changer. I realized the importance of a clear "why" in driving innovation and the impact of well-defined personas and effective brainstorming methods. Unlike traditional approaches, Design Thinking encourages us to fail fast and iterate quickly, saving time and resources 💡 Thanks to Doodle, we're now equipped with the tools to think critically, empathize with our users, and create truly resonate solutions 🚀 #GIMOCareers #DesignThinking #Creativity

It was both a privilege and trial to teach “Design Thinking for Decision Making” at VinUniversity alongside Chris Elkin, Hoang, Vu Tuyen and Quynh Nguyen in the last two days. The workshop marathon was held as part of the Techcombank key talent development programme and focused on using foundational Design Thinking principles for evidence-based decision making. We injected a sufficient amount of play and unexpectedness in the programme in an attempt to creatively rewire the brains of the audience as well as our own. The resulting exchange of learnings, a-ha moments and smiles was rewarding, to say the least. Instead of employees, stakeholders, managers and directs, we were all members of a connected community eager to learn from each other. It was fantastic to see familiar faces in the audience such as Jyoti Sekhsaria, Maninder Singh, Ngoc Anh (Harry) Nguyen and Mai Phuong Bui. Thank you, Techcombank RIse. Those were two days well spent.
