The reveal was done in a way that I didn't expect at all.
This was great. It kept a constant feeling of threat and tension ramping up, where you weren't sure when something was going to happen. Even when you are explicitly told something bad is about to happen, it's still a curveball. The chase scene was perhaps a little too chaotic, and needed to guide the player's panic a little more, since game overs in this type of encounter kill the tension a bit. All said, nice work, and good fun.
Thank you for the kind words and valid criticism.
This was short, but it was pretty good! Though, the rating description on the "case" probably should have included "Language" or "Strong Language," since the character swears at the beginning. But other than that, I thought the game was pretty good! I also liked the way the game over sequence happens.
Oh! That's a good point. Thank you for pointing that out, it absolutely slipped my mind.
You're welcome!
Just as always, short, but brilliant! Also, only one ending? On the "disc case" it says "animated violence, blood and gore" while the in-game death is not violent and there's only "good" ending. Just wondering.
Thank you! for the kind words.
I considered the monster's swinging at you with their BIG... MEATY.... CLAWS! as a form Violence. And the monster's intestines are showing which is a form of blood and gore. (Though I get how that's abstracted when everything is green) But I do agree that it isn't much which is why I gave it a T rating rather than M.
Also, there is only one ending. I'd say I didn't have time during the jam, but really I just didn't consider it for this project. The next one perhaps. ^^
The game was definitely a nice experience with great use of sfx to build tension. I look forward to your next game.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. http://www.youtube.com/c/Levont
Heck yeck. Thank you for the video!
Is the game finished and needs no more updates?
This is a complete experience and will not be receiving any updates.. However I plan to expand upon the concept in a second title for the Haunted Hunt Jam over the next 2 weeks.
Thanks! I can enjoy the game now.
Cool atmosphere! I thought the green lighting did an effective job of covering up the "platform" limitations. There were moments where I thought that I saw something hiding behind the trees, which was pretty effective in building the tension (I'm pretty sure it was just other trees, but it gave me that impression nonetheless).
The turn was well done, and suitably creepy. Good job placing the creatures at the end—they were placed in such a way that it didn't feel unfair.
Thank you. I appreciate your words of praise. ^^
Will this work with MacOS Catalina? I tried to open it but it just says it can't be opened. I absolutely love the style though great job!
It should work. From what I've read Catalina has a guardian system that won't let unauthorized apps run. You should be able to look up a way to circumvent that on your end. There isn't much I can do from mine. My Apologies.
oh it’s all good. That’s just Apple is it a 32 bit or 64 bit game? I’ve heard the new software can no longer run 32 bit games which is stupid because now 90% of my library won’t run at all :/
I'm uncertain. And don't know how to check.
When building for Mac, unlike windows, I don't get an option between 32 and 64 bit. That's very strange, and an awful design flaw. on both Apple's and Unity's part.
Yeah I’ve noticed. I’m a beginner with unity still but i can’t seem to choose if I want to build a 32 or 64 bit version on Mac. Ohh yeah big flaw on Apples part their getting a lot of hate hopefully they’ll change it back.
That was really cool! (And the Mac build is working perfectly!)
I'm glad to hear it! Thank you for letting me know, and thank you for the praise.
the art style is very amazing
keep up your good work
I appreciate the video.
for some reason the entire screen is bright green and yellow except for the flashlight's beam
That's very strange. Could you perhaps screenshot it so I can see exactly what's happening?
Those ain't your ordinary Deer pretty cool concept! the story kinda lost me at the end but overall it was fun to play through and had some scare factor to it! my play through here:
Thank you for posting the video so I could watch it.
