WELCOME TO WOMEN IN ADVANCED THERAPIES (WIAT) We are a group of women and male allies who are determined to make an impact and support the growth of women within advanced therapies. Our goal is to build a community who support each other, share experiences, and pave the way for the next generation of female leaders in advanced therapies. Despite the rapid growth and development of the cell and gene therapy space, there’s still a significant skills gap at all levels – from entry-level to board positions. WIAT firmly believe that diversity and inclusion are the keys to unlocking untapped market space, retaining top talent, and staying ahead of the competition. #WIAT #womeninadvancedtherapies

Spent the day hooked to my laptop attending the sessions at the online Women in Advanced Therapies conference ! Women in Advanced Therapies In a first for me, I’m glad I attended these panels about : 🧬 the state of the CGT industry in the UK and EU 🧬 the importance of collaborations and partnerships in easing the translation of academic research and attracting early phase funding 🧬 mentoring and enabling women to pursue the roles they deserve, from entry level to C - suite positions 🧬 seeing an increase in male allies recognising the strong females around them and helping in their own ways 🧬 focusing on fair recruitment processes and ensuring “diversity” is not merely a marketing scheme for recruitment in this industry Ending the day feeling inspired and more confident about starting my career in #CGT as a woman 😊

Although not all men are from Mars and not all women are from Venus, there are certainly different communication styles that different people respond better to and we seek to explore how to better empower each other by focussing on communicating more effectively and communicating in a way that works for others and not just ourselves.
