We’re pleased to share that the Brent Cross Town heat network been awarded funding by the Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF). The fund will support the delivery of the heat network and its supply of low carbon heating and cooling to up to 6,700 new homes and 3 million square feet of commercial space in north London. Alina Gheorghiu-Currie, Director of Heat Networks – London, commented, “We're pleased to be working with Related Argent and Barnet Council to deliver low carbon heating, hot water and cooling to the Brent Cross Town community, supporting local jobs and apprenticeships. “This much welcomed Green Heat Network Funding will enable the delivery of a low carbon heat network, supporting the overarching goal for Brent Cross Town to be carbon neutral by 2030."

We're pleased to share that Bristol City Leap as been shortlisted for the Public Finance award for 'Delivering Sustainability and Social Value'. This award recognises organisations or projects that have shown particular impact through sustainability initiatives. As part of the Bristol City Leap partnership, and alongside our partners Ameresco, we have committed to delivering £61.5 million in social value. This includes spending £50 million with local supply chain, creating over 1,000 new jobs and offer a range of funding initiatives within the first 5 years of the partnership. Social value is a core principle in our approach to building out the heat network in Bristol so we are delighted that Bristol City Leap is being recognised in this way by CIPFA and Public Finance.

Bristol as a harbour city offers huge potential for low carbon heat sources. We currently operate England’s largest harbour-based water source heat pump at Castle Park Energy Centre, which has previously been awarded ‘Heat Pump City of the Year’ by the European Heat Pump Association.   Today the team have been out on set filming the process of how water from the historic floating harbour is turned into hot water that heats thousands of homes in Bristol.    Stay tuned to watch the video soon!
