3337 pupils from across the UK joined us to look inside the Big Box world of logistics last week! Three volunteers from Tritax Big Box REIT plc joined us to explore their roles within warehouses, giving a virtual insight into what goes on behind the scenes and how their roles link back to school subjects. Pupils were lucky enough to get some insider information about warehouses being used as film sets and jobs involving travel across Europe. We had brilliant feedback from the 43 schools that joined, with one teacher saying, “We enjoyed all the presentations, and we [the children] now know how important maths and IT are in our changing world.” A huge thanks to the schools that joined and all the children for their interaction and great questions, and of course, thank you to our volunteers: Investment Associate Maddy Marsden, Property Manager Steven Bell, and Senior Asset Manager Tom Stanton.

As England gears up to face the Netherlands in the #EURO2024 semi-finals tonight, we're channeling that same team spirit and determination to support Halifax-born ski instructor Tom Waddington. Tom is attempting to break a world record by rowing solo across the North Atlantic from Canada to Penzance in under 39 days, aiming to raise £50,000 for Mind by facing 2000 miles of gruelling conditions. Inspired by Tom's story, our team has taken on a mission this week to #MatchTheMiles by rowing, cycling, and running the 2000 miles to raise awareness and money for Tom's cause. THIS FOOTAGE IS WILD! 🤩 • Tom has backed up his voice note this morning with some of the most amazing footage we've ever seen from an ocean rowing boat! 🤯 • Yesterday he found himself surrounded by a school of what we believe are long finned pilot whales. Initially ten, then twenty, then more and more! It was an amazing experience until one of the excitable whales slammed into the side of his boat! 💥😨 • Whilst Tom could see they were just being playful, he was (rightly) terrified that their fun and games could mean that he loses his rudder in the process! As a solo, unsupported ocean rower, losing a rudder would be a major problem. 😱 • Tom tried to row away from the pod, but they just followed him - and their numbers grew. This school of whales turned into a university of whales!
