Givaudan, dsm-firmenich and SAES Chemicals each won gold awards at the in-cosmetics Korea 2024 trade show in Seoul. Givaudan won the gold award in the actives category for Illuminyl 388, SAES Chemicals took the top prize in the functional category for ZeoSAES UV Booster, and dsm-firmenich won the inaugural K-Beauty Standout Award for Pentavitin.

Swiss personal care ingredient maker Givaudan’s Fragrance & Beauty business unit saw sales rise by 15.1% on a like-for-like basis in the first half of 2024. Fragrance & Beauty revenue was 1.826 billion Swiss francs ($2.066 billion) as its Active Beauty sub-unit increased sales by 8% on a year earlier.

US compliance specialist Registrar Corp has launched Adverse Event Management (AEM) Software, said to be a first-of-its-kind software package that enables cosmetics companies to comply with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA)’s Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA). The AEM platform securely intakes sensitive data, tracks all adverse events for all products globally, transmits information to internal stakeholders, and formats serious adverse events to the FDA MedWatch format for submission to the FDA.

Advancion Corporation is highlighting its bio-based multifunctional amino alcohol specifically developed for use in beauty and personal care applications. The new ingredient, exclusively manufactured by Advancion, is 50% bio-based and provides exceptional performance, including high-efficiency neutralization, emulsion stabilization and pigment dispersion.

The Webb City, Missouri firm says manufacturers can achieve consistent quality with every batch, thanks to the system's repeatable and accurate fill volumes.

German personal care ingredient maker OQ Chemicals has launched OxBalance Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate (NPG Diheptanoate), a biomass-balanced light emollient ester for cosmetics certified under the ISCC - International Sustainability and Carbon Certification PLUS scheme. The ester, which follows the launch of a conventional version last year, is said to outperform cyclic silicones (D5), which are being phased out due to EU regulations.
