Que guay! Our new AQA approved GCSE Spanish Book looks right at home exploring La Mancha con co-author José García. Buen viaje! 🇪🇸💃🏻

I took the new OUP Spanish book for a spin around the heart of La Mancha. Even poet Juan Alcaide is thrilled- he knows no other resources are approved by AQA for the 2024 spec! Tony Weston Oxford University Press

🏖️It's the school summer holidays! But does that mean we stop looking for maths all around us? Of course not!😎 📷Join us in celebrating #MathsOnHoliday by snapping a photo of any maths you see on your travels. It might be an interesting pattern on the tiles in Lisbon, or a collection of shells found on Blackpool beach... Share your findings in the comments below or by using the hashtag #MathsOnHoliday

We're proud to participate in the second year of the Climate Change Challenge organized by the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Following the success of its inaugural year in 2023, which attracted more than 600 applications from more than 43 countries, the second year of the competition is poised to amplify its impact and engage youth from around the world in the fight against climate change. Students aged 15-18 are invited to submit their proposals addressing five key themes: 😷 Air pollution: Combating air pollution caused by industrial emissions, vehicle exhaust, and deforestation, and its detrimental effects on human health and the environment. ☀️ Extreme weather: Mitigating the impact of extreme weather events such as floods, tropical cyclones, droughts, and wildfires on communities and ecosystems. 💧 Water scarcity: Developing sustainable solutions to address water scarcity, water pollution, and access to clean drinking water. 🌱 Food security: Addressing the impact of climate change on agricultural production, food distribution, and access to nutritious food. 🐝 Biodiversity: Protecting and preserving biodiversity in the face of habitat loss, deforestation, and species extinction. Teachers are required to submit their entries in the form of lesson plans designed to educate students about climate change and its various aspects. The urgency of addressing climate change has become increasingly evident. Every month from May 2023 to April 2024 has seen record-high global temperatures according to multiple datasets, with the 12-month period ending April 2024 the warmest on record. The record warmth is linked to an increase in extreme weather events like heatwaves, droughts, and floods. These events are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change, so the need for innovative solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change has never been more pressing. Finalists will be invited to attend #COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November 2024 with all expenses covered, where they will present their solutions to a distinguished audience. The winners will be given the unique opportunity to travel to Oxford in 2025 to take part in a tailored climate change programme at Saïd Business School led by world-leading academics. ⏰ Closing date: 15 September 2024 For more information, visit https://ow.ly/yNTc50SG5Zm #ClimateChangeChallenge #ClimateChange #ClimateAction #Education
