The Islington Fostering Service supports foster carers to look after local children and young people. In Islington there is the need for foster carers for all age groups but particularly for teenagers and for specialist carers for young people with complex behavioral needs. What is Specialist fostering? Caring for a young person with complex and challenging needs you will be required to provide a safe, stable and supportive environment. You will ideally have experience of working with teenagers and an understanding of challenging behaviour and the difficulties young people face. You’ll get an enhanced reward and ongoing training. At least one of the main carers will need to be available full-time. Carers will receive monthly clinical and group supervision and 24 hour specialist support as well as on-going training to meet children's needs. They will also benefit from enhanced allowances and retainer fees.
