The business boasts an already impressive UK customer portfolio spanning; Retail, E-Commerce, Fashion and FMCG.
The Role
The General Manager will play a critical role in leading all activity across a key UK DC operation, operating within a Multi-User, Open Book, 600,000 sq. ft. site.
This position is a truly exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting Line: Reporting to the UK Operations Director.
Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement and projects.
Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing, collective site operational team (up to 1,000 employees) through managerial direct reports.
Client Relationships: Build and maintain an already impressive, strong customer relationship base, ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
Commercial Responsibility & Budget Management: Develop and manage the operational site budget in excess of £20m, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining service & quality.
Performance Metrics: Continue to evolve the organisational approach to KPI’s, whilst ensuring existing and new site standardisation.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practice.
Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Innovation: Support the business appetite to drive innovation, Automation & Robotics along with the adoption of new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Supplier Relationships: Manage UK commercial relationships with customers, suppliers and third-party service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
The Successful Candidate – Key Experience
A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background - Essential.
Proven experience in operational leadership within the 3PL industry, with a minimum of 8 years of progressive responsibility – Essential.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating at a General Manager, Senior General Manager, Head of or Operations Director level previously – Essential.
Previous budgetary responsibility across medium to large sized DC operations in excess of £25m – Essential.
Awareness to Semi-Automation & Robotics – AMR’s, AGV’s - Advantageous.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
Prior commercial knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market.

Salary & Benefits Package
Salary - £80,000 to £90,000
