As an experienced Highways Lighting professional, you will be comfortable allocating, monitoring and supervising a team of field staff to complete our installation and repair works. However, as a consummate professional you will also ensure that each member of your team is properly authorised and trained to undertake the work allocated to them. Working closely with the Contracts Project Manager, Commercial/Sales Engineers and Support Team your supervision of the team will maintain and improve the performance of the project delivery.

Of course, safety is paramount. You will be responsible for the identification, evaluation and control of all potential on site hazards and ensuring that safety and quality are never compromised. Through site inspections, team briefings and regular safety audits you will monitor and maintain the high standards that you expect from both employees and contractors. Your passion for safety will be matched only by your passion for quality, and drive to complete works in a timely manner and to the performance standards our Projects require.

  • Working closely with the Contracts Manager, Commercial/Sales Engineers and Admin Team to proactively implement procedures and initiatives to improve the performance of the depot.
  • Actively monitor and supervise on a daily basis the productivity, disciplinary, safety and quality performance of the industrial staff within their control.
  • Provide direct supervision for all types of work including, highways electrical installations, live cable jointing and out of hours standby so as to ensure it is completed in accordance with Eon and Customer requirements.
  • Maintain and improve productivity levels on a job by job basis.
  • Create and promote an environment where the work force strives for continuous improvement and the implementation of best practice.
  • Issue appropriate documentation and ensure the timely and accurate completion in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Managing a team of at least 15 line reports.


What We Need From You

  • Wide range of knowledge and experience of Highways Lighting installation practices and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of a Quality Management System.
  • Detailed knowledge of safety management, risk assessment and safe working procedures.
  • Basic understanding of a profit & loss account.
  • Working  knowledge of the live cable jointing activity and authorised to set jointers to work or willing to take appropriate training towards.


It would be great if you have

  • Basic keyboard skills and knowledge of Vixen and PC packages.
  • Working some unsociable hours may be required for this role.
  • Qualified electrician or willing to work towards.
