Interim statutory DASS (required to be registered with Social Work England)
Responsibilities
Strategic planning and delivery of strengths-based adult social care services, focusing on self-directed support, personalisation, inclusion, and tackling inequalities.
Oversee services such as initial assessment, hospital social work, safeguarding, reablement, occupational therapy, telecare, brokerage, direct payments, and support for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues.
Ensure statutory requirements are met and drive performance improvements.
Promote a person-centred, inclusive, and enabling service culture.
Engage with residents, service users, and carers regularly for co-production of services.
Embed diversity, inclusion, and anti-racist leadership in all services.
Formulate and implement policies to improve service delivery and quality of life.
Foster partnerships with NHS, voluntary sector, other Council services, and public service agencies.
Safeguard vulnerable adults effectively.
Requirements
Meet the support needs of vulnerable adults in compliance with relevant legislation.
Promote independence, opportunity, and choice in service delivery.
Ensure joint working across organizational boundaries for seamless care.
Lead the Council with a 'one organization' approach, supporting strategic priorities and elected members.
Promote equality, sustainability, and innovation within the workforce.
Participate in emergency planning and business contingency arrangements.
People Management
Collaborate with partners for strategic decision-making.
Establish accountability and a culture of learning and workforce planning.
Enable staff to realise their potential and improve outcomes for residents.
Finance Management
Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money.
Drive efficiency and hold managers accountable for service delivery.
Service Delivery
Innovate in service delivery for high quality and value for money.
Ensure high standards of customer service and continuous improvement.
Integrate services within the directorate and across the Council.
Set strategic objectives and lead robust business and financial planning.
Manage external contracts and ensure business continuity plans are in place.
Other Conditions
Enhanced DBS check required.
Needs to hold SWE and be a registered social worker
Politically restricted post.
Deputise for the Corporate Director as needed.
Perform other duties as directed by the Chief Executive.
