In 2020 energy hubs was just an idea. Fast forward 4 years and we have a demonstrable understanding on how energy hubs could play a pivotal role in the important brown to green energy transition. Without ambition, scale and collaboration we will build an inefficient future energy system. Bringing the energy hubproject and hydrogen backbone projects together it’s easy to realise the scale of ambition and more importantly, the scale of the opportunity. This landmark agreement marks a significant expansion of our presence on the UK Continental Shelf as it integrates Eni's UK upstream operations with Ithaca Energy, creating a leading production and growth company in the region. The Combination, effective by the second half of 2024, is expected to reach over 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with the potential to organically grow to more than 150,000 boepd by the early 2030s - numbers that testify our long-term commitment to the stability and expansion of the UK’s #energysector. After the successful Vår Energi and Azule Energy combinations, we once again applied our distinctive Satellite Model: lean, focused, and financially independent operations, aimed at creating value through operational and financial synergies. Indeed, our integration with Ithaca Energy combines our expertise and resources with Ithaca’s operational excellence and solidifies our position in the UKCS establishing a material portfolio with significant growth and optimization opportunities. I was pleased to attend #WECs roundtable on mobilising capital for the #energytransition. Policy kept coming up as a key lever for capital, witness policy enabled capital. In that, clear targets and the demand side are key. There are some thoughts to be had about how to get to enabled capital and, hence, risk reduction, across value chains. Key, greater private and public cooperation can overcome some of the constraints and unlock investor appetite.
