Pride in STEM is a charitable trust run by an independent group of LGBT scientists & engineers from around the world. Proud of who we are and what we do.

STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) seem to have low numbers of out LGBT people, both for personal or environmental reasons. By showing that not everyone working in STEM fits the same mould, we hope to challenge the general public’s perceptions of what scientists should be like.It is becoming more and…

STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) seem to have low numbers of out LGBT people, both for personal or environmental reasons. By showing that not everyone working in STEM fits the same mould, we hope to challenge the general public’s perceptions of what scientists should be like.It is becoming more and more evident that embracing diversity, in all its forms, is vital for the future of the innovation that science, and the world, relies so heavily upon

  • Geomagnetic storms can trigger stroke: evidence from 6 large population-based studies in Europe and Australasia.

    Stroke

Geomagnetic storms are associated with increased risk of stroke and should be considered along with other established risk factors. Our findings provide a framework to advance stroke prevention through future investigation of the contribution of geomagnetic factors to the risk of stroke occurrence and pathogenesis

HOWEVER, Mg2 HAS RECEIVED RELATIVELY LITTLE ACKNOWLEDGMENT COMPARED WITH OTHER CATION PARTICLES SUCH AS CALCIUM OR POTASSIUM. THIS REVIEW AIMS TO INCREASE THE AWARENESS OF COACHES AND ATHLETES REGARDING Mg2 'S PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND FUNCTIONS. THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS CATION, IN TERMS OF MUSCLE CONTRACTION AND ENERGY REGULATION, INCLUDING OTHER RELATED PROCESSES WILL BE EXPLORED. CONSEQUENCES OF Mg2 DEFICIENCY IN ATHLETIC AND UNTRAINED POPULATIONS WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED, INCLUDING STRATEGIES TO OPTIMIZE Mg2 LEVELS.
