    My degree was taken over a number of years all in my spare time. The majority of the degree was technology based with the final units being on RF engineering and managing complexity.

    I studied for three years at Wray castle and obtained my qualifications to serve as a Radio officer. On leaving the college I was recommended by them for a post with Radio and Electrical Services of Liverpool and subsidiary of Cunard and joined Cunard as a Junior Radio Officer.

However today seafarers are not all so well respected and supported and the Sailor's Society provides an excellent support funded through donations.
