Understanding Showcalling Workshop. Monday 30th September by Zoom. 10.30 - 16.15 Interactive workshop for anyone interested in getting a better understanding of the showcaller role and how producers are integral to our ability to call a show in giving us detail and more detail! The workshop is divided into 2 parts. Morning is a full explanation with discussion and Q&A on the challenges which are repetitive onsite and how they could be improved through some simple client interactions. Full explanation of all the departments. What they expect from the showcaller and we from them. Terminology. Understanding screen sets ups and Presets. How best to give us information in running orders and other documentation. Less is more! What you need to build a showbook either digitally or on paper Afternoon session. Practical exercise on putting together a showbook from a small script, running order and PPT. This gives you a much better understanding of what a showcaller has to take on board when building their narrative in a showbook. More information mail [email protected]. Value - Making sure that the standard of output matches its purpose. We want to make sure that every video is good value - not over or under produced, but just right. Coming from Planet Zog!** Being introduced by Ian Dembinski from Rathbones Group Plc (the smartest and kindest man in the world) introduced me from Planet Zog - a goddess from another realm, with superpowers that shine a light on the people around me. Ian has known me for a lifetime, from the days I taught Brand Equity Value at the London Stock Exchange Setting the perfect tone for my dinner speech last night hosted by the remarkable Liz Jackson MBE and the newly branded Initium (formerly BCMS) As the plates for starters were being cleared my talk began, centred around *the power of your brand* and the legacy you're creating in this world. The superpowers you bring down to Earth—how are they shining a light on the people around you? Between starters and mains, I shared my entrepreneurial journey: from three exits (retail, footwear manufacturing, and finally, walking away from an industry I spent most of my life in) to living a life of purpose. Now, I build brands that shift industries and make positive changes in the world. The room was alive with energy as I talked about: - *Not waiting* to do what you love—starting today. - *Leading with purpose and impact* while still driving commercial returns. - Realizing that your biggest asset is you. So, what do you want to be known for? - *Becoming an ambassador for your company* and shining a light on what truly matters. - *Campaigning your assets*—the things you’re great at—by aligning a foundation with a commercial business that pulls (attracts) the market toward to you. When someone asked about failure, I didn’t hesitate. As entrepreneurs, we face far more failures than successes. But I see them as gifts. Learning from the worst scenarios is what drives you forward. If you dwell on the things that went wrong, you stay stuck in that space. The final question was what keeps me going, and I shared: My daughter says I’m relentless. My business partner calls me a dog with a bone. But I call it *vision* and *purpose*—my North Star. If you believe in the vision, you’ll get there. It’s not just about what’s next for your business. It’s about what’s now for you. The biggest asset you’re building is yourself. You can sell the business, but you can’t sell you. What’s your legacy going to be? I was involved in an interesting conversation about AI in senior recruitment this week. The company uses AI and algorithms to screen senior level applicants for open positions within their business. But thinks applicants should not use AI or optimisation tools on their CV’s (resumes) or cover letters when applying for roles. Client: New project brief. Can you hit this deadline? Videographer: Yeah sure 👀 (without the faintest idea if its possible). We’ve all been there.. We know we’re going to be busy, But there are so many projects on the go that who knows where it will all land, And we hate turning away work! So we decide to say yes, and figure it out later. Then find ourselves beyond breaking point for the next six weeks as we fight fires and try not to cry most days. .. So, what's the solution? Project management software often falls short (or requires more manual time than we have available), Manually project managing this on Google Calendar is horrendously time consuming. So how do YOU go about this? No, I'm genuinely asking. And/Or would you be interested in a tool that gives you visibility of multiple project commitments at once?
