ADS Group Ltd, the UK trade association for the aerospace, defence and security sectors found that the industry contributed £38.2bn ($48.4bn) to the UK economy in the last year, a value that has increased by 50% in the last decade. The combined turnover was £88.4bn in 2023, with almost half of the combined industry turnover generated through exports. The latest figures from ADS Group showed an increase across all its sectors, despite lasting headwinds from the global pandemic stalling manufacturing productivity, issues in the labour force driving a critical skills gap, and a production capacity that is below demand.

Overwatch Group are showcasing their latest development to potential customers privately at SOF 2024, as well as launching their unique drone technology into the US market. 💡 Overwatch is a UK-based end-to-end design and manufacture company specialising in advanced unmanned system and munitions technologies, manufacturing a pioneering coaxial drone and associated payload technology. 🚁 Their payload agnostic, low weight, high effect drone weapon systems are manportable providing protection through precision strike, thereby enabling operators to respond at pace to ever-evolving tactical requirements in the battlespace. Since 2022, the company has delivered around 800 of their unmanned aerial precision strike systems in support of the UK’s contribution to global defence and security. 🤝 As part of Project Convergence Capstone 4 (PC-C4), Overwatch contributed to an integrated reconnaissance and precision strike demonstration at White Sands missile range. This will help commanders make the right decisions and deliver the best effects to win on future battlefields.
