The UK government is implementing a new Customs Declaration Service (CDS), and the June 4 deadline for exporters to switch from the older CHIEF system is fast approaching. However, according to Agency Sector Management, with less than a month away, up to a third of exporters still need to make the switch. HMRC will only grant a four-week extension in exceptional circumstances, so it’s important to make sure you’ve made the change before the cutoff date. New users also have the opportunity to take advantage of a Trader Test Environment to get comfortable with the new system before the deadline. #thefreightarchitects #jaguarfreight #logistics

Parcel delivery giant Evri was put up for sale last year by its PE owners. JD.COM are through to a second round of bidding with a £2 billion offer. It's further examples of businesses becoming more vertically integrated. 🛒 Amazon have expanded significantly beyond mere retail operations and are intwined in customer's lives 🛒 Morrisons in the UK are significantly integrated, owning much of the process from farm to fork 🛒 Whilst Shopify solid it's acquisition of shipping company Deliverr Inc. to Flexport, they have taken a 13% stake in Flexport. A big thanks to Multimodal Exhibition for hosting a good panel session - ‘Net Zero: will we decarbonise the road freight sector in time?’ A very relevant topic but also a beast of a question to answer in 45 hours let alone 45 minutes. However, Philip Greening, Colin Synnott and Chris Welch did a mighty fine job of tackling some of the critical enablers to achieving this mammoth task - 1) understanding and awareness, 2) prioritisation, 3) responsibility, 4) collaboration and 5) apportionment of cost. We didn’t even scratch the surface, more of a gentle tickle really! Nevertheless, a massive responsibility we all must bare and lean into. That is non-negotiable. But what was the panel view on whether we can do it on time? Two resounding “Yes’s” and one “It’s possible”. The ‘ayes’ have it. 👌 A big thanks to the organisers and, of course, the fantastic panel. #multimodal #carbonzero #netzero #zeuslabs
