A Wednesday morning rant from a frustrated social freelancer incoming ⤵ If you're looking to hire full-scale social media management support, you should not be paying anything less than £1,000 per month. Even then, that's low. You're essentially asking a freelancer to do a full-time job for £12k per year -> BEFORE TAX. I've had some *crazy* budgets put to me since going freelance. Anywhere from as little as £200 per month for end-to-end social support. That means, they've wanted me to: -> Create a social strategy across multiple platforms -> Ideate, plan and create a monthly content calendar -> Plan organic campaigns over key moments -> Write captions across all content and platforms -> Schedule all content on relevant days and times -> Report on content and profile performance -> Keep up to date with the latest social news & trends All for the pleasure of £2,400 *PER YEAR* 💀 This isn't me trying to call anyone out or to make small businesses feel guilty for having less resource. If £200pm *is* your budget, that's fine. I'm simply telling you to be realistic with the budget that you do have, and not try to take freelancers for all they're worth 😩 You couldn't legally pay a full-time employee that little, so don't expect it from a freelancer either. This is my full-time job, not a little side hustle for some extra pocket money 🙏 Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk ✨
