In this role, you will focus on assembling, integrating, and fine-tuning UAV systems, with a strong understanding of Ardupilot firmware, parameter setup, PID tuning, and the entire product development lifecycle. This position is ideal for candidates with an Aerospace, Electronics and Telecommunications (ENTC) or Electrical Engineering background (or equivalent) who are eager to contribute to cutting-edge drone development for defense and civilian applications. 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: -: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications (ENTC), Electrical Engineering, or a related field. -:1-2 years of proven experience in UAV/drone assembly, integration, and tuning. -:Strong knowledge of Ardupilot firmware and its parameter setup, with hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting. -: Proven expertise in PID tuning for multirotor and fixed-wing UAV platforms. -: Experience in UAV component integration, including flight controllers, ESCs, motors, sensors (IMU, GPS, etc.), and power systems. -: Understanding of the product development process from concept to production. -: Knowledge of quality control processes and best practices for UAV systems. 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: -Perform the assembly and integration of UAVs, focusing on precise hardware-software alignment using Ardupilot firmware. -Perform detailed parameter setup for flight controllers, ensuring optimized performance for specific UAV applications. -Execute PID tuning to enhance UAV flight stability, responsiveness, and efficiency. -Integrate and configure sensors such as IMUs, GPS, cameras, and payload systems for various mission requirements. -Perform detailed log analysis to identify performance issues, optimize UAV flight behavior, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. -Ensure all UAV components meet quality standards and are compliant with safety and performance regulations. -Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and avionics engineers to achieve smooth integration of flight control systems. -Conduct flight tests, assess UAV performance, and refine setup for enhanced reliability and safety. -Maintain documentation on assembly processes, parameter configurations, tuning methods, and troubleshooting steps. -Contribute to the product development process, from initial design and prototyping to production and quality assurance. -Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in UAV technology, applying new methodologies and solutions to improve system integration and performance. -Strong attention to detail, especially in quality control and compliance with industry standards. Happy to share some recent industry and portfolio news - it's been an exciting summer for the industry so far🌍 🛰 The Satellite Industry Association (SIA) has released its 27th annual report, highlighting record-breaking achievements. For the sixth consecutive year, the number of commercial satellites deployed into orbit reached an all-time high, with a 20% year-over-year increase. The industry also achieved a record 190 launches in 2023. As of the year's end, 9,691 active satellites are orbiting Earth—an astonishing 361% increase over the past five years. 💫 China's First Mega Constellation: China has entered the global race to deploy large satellite networks, launching the first 18 satellites of its Thousand Sails mega constellation. This ambitious project, aiming for a total of 1,300 satellites, marks China's initial effort to create a Starlink-like network in low Earth orbit. 🛰 Array Labs launched their first 2 satellites, a planned radar constellation to provide a 3D imagery of the globe - a near real-time digital twin of everything on the planet. This weekend SpaceX launched a mission carrying satellites for 7 Seraphim portfolio companies, including Array Labs (2 satellites), Ubotica Technologies (1), Spire Global (7 satellites), D-Orbit (1), Tomorrow.io (2), ICEYE (4) and HawkEye 360 (3). Additionally, two Seraphim Space Accelerator alumni, Cosmic Shielding Corporation and Sateliot, were also part of the launch. M&A and Growth: Lockheed Martin has announced its acquisition of smallsat manufacturer Terran Orbital in a $450m deal. Meanwhile, several public “New Space” companies reported strong growth: Rocket Lab saw a 70% year-over-year increase in sales, BlackSky reported 29% growth, and Redwire achieved a 30% rise. https://lnkd.in/eFuTdKf3 🚀 - in case you missed it!
