Last week Durham County Council announced a strategic partnership with Zest to deliver EV charging at 250 locations around the county, focusing on areas where many residents don’t have a driveway.   In what is the latest in a growing series of major Zest investments across the country that demonstrate councils’ commitment to providing equitable access to EV infrastructure. The partnerships include North Yorkshire Council, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council in the Midlands, and Brent Council and London Borough of Hackney in London.   There is a common thread in this building momentum. Forward-looking local authorities are seeking to augment central government support with significant private investment from Zest. By taking strong action now, these organisations will not only meet their targets for decarbonising road transport, but they will also improve air quality and boost local economies.   The message to all local authorities is clear, especially those in receipt of #LEVI support, is that the scale of ambition among these council is pronounced - the opportunity is there today to grasp   https://lnkd.in/eq9iWB5d   #ZestEV #EVInfrastructure #LocalGov #LocalGovernment #Councils

⚡ Durham County Council is working in partnership with Zest to provide 250 new charging locations across the county. With forty percent of residents in County Durham not having a driveway, the project aims to help enable those people to choose electric vehicles.
