Not only do these look and feel cool, they are a lot better than using plastic. 🍃 Eco-friendly bathroom products. These save 48% carbon emissions during the manufacturing process. 🍃 Water bottles. Although these are plastic, they are designed to be #recyclable, #reusable and, #compostable.  🍃 Information guides. Informing guests on their sustainable initiatives as well as educate them on the bathroom products provided. 🍃 Pledges. Visible pledges that have been made to commit to sustainable travel.   We have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of attention which goes into making these resorts as sustainable as possible and we hope this continues to develop in the future. It’s a busy week in the office as some of the team gear up for back to back events in Kenya next week. As there are delegates travelling in from all across Africa, we have enlisted the support of interpretation services to reduce barriers and promote inclusion.   Interpreters are often flown in to the host country to provide their services in-person. However, to further reduce emissions, the interpreters for these events will be working remotely using technology to translate for those that need it. We'd love to hear if you've had any experience with remote translation.

This week, we were delighted to welcome Japan Gray Line and the Sustainable Event Council to London to discuss the latest and greatest in sustainable events.   The Sustainable Event Council brings together five of Japan's top companies in the events industry to promote sustainability. As summer in the UK starts to fade away, we wanted to remind ourselves of one of the sunnier events we did recently 😎 ☀️ Our client had just made several acquisitions amidst some award wins and wanted to bring the company together to provide business updates, deliver motivational speeches and celebrate in style 🥂 We were brought in to fully manage the event, and delivered a conference set in a high-tech auditorium, followed by a Thames river cruise on board a 61-metre luxury yacht, all in glorious sunshine! Location is so important when it comes to creating a sustainable event. On average, audience and staff travel account for between 60-85% of an event’s carbon footprint. On a recent event this year, we chose to hold the event in the destination where most of the delegates were based. This resulted in a 33% decrease in travel and accommodation related emissions totalling a reduction of 2.35 tCO2e. And as the travel emissions contributed a whopping 89.8% of the emissions of the event, this made a big impact. You can create carbon estimates using your carbon calculator to decide which location is best for the event. August is typically a quieter time for agencies and businesses in the UK. In light of this, we've introduced a new initiative during this month to recognise the team's hard work during the busy months of June and July. As some of you may already know, we’re big fans of the work City Harvest London do by redistributing surplus food to those in need. You’ll often find us at their flagship Acton depot putting in some hours volunteering whilst chatting to our fave Jamie Dyck. So it makes us really happy to announce that City Harvest London is our charity of choice this year! We will be donating 1% of our profits to the organisation as well as increasing our volunteering hours. As of today, Zentive Agency have provided over 10,000 meals for Londoners in need by volunteering time and donating funds to City Harvest.
