Content which falls under 6 categories, such as abusive / misleading / obscene will be hidden or deleted across all their channels. Florida signs a law which bans children under from 14 using social media. What could be a pivotal moment, will be challenged legally still, and throws up more questions than answers... -How will this be upheld? Will all accounts go through identity checks? Like gambling companies currently do -What are the pros and cons for the youngsters? -Why don't the platforms do more for online safety for minors so it doesn't come to this? A concerning article, on an ever increasing theme from Louisa Clarence-Smith in The Telegraph last week. Todays young adults are the first generation to have Social Media basically since birth. Great to see such an initiative, but shame it's born out of such alarming stats: 'In 2022, 640,000 posts were identified as being unacceptable and, by 2024, that number had quadrupled on the club’s platforms'. Great to see Meta take the initiative with the plan to label all AI generated imagery across their platforms. While at first it may be easy to evade, it's certainly a step in the right direction.
