World Gold Council reposted this
Now that we no longer will have two incumbents on the Presidential ticket this November, the markets may seem even less predictable. But ultimately for gold, it’s about policy over party. I joined the Schwab Network this morning to discuss our new report, “Ballots to Bullion,” which examines the US election’s effect on gold. To contextualize this research, the top three things to keep in mind: 1. Volatility is up, which can lead investors to want to mitigate risk. 2. There may be a reaction in the short term, but it’s more important to consider long-term performance. 3. Regardless of who wins, policies will impact the price of gold more than the President or their party. These three things position gold to be a safe haven asset not only throughout election season, but well into the next presidency.
