Here’s a lovely, heart-warming story for you. A retired couple who met online during the Covid Lockdown are now enjoying life together in a new William Davis home. Bob Leslie and Jane Outram have moved to beautiful Wellington Place, Market Harborough, where their stunning four-bedroom Sherford has plenty of room for when their grandchildren come to visit. “Our first date was spent sitting on a park bench in Tamworth, close to where I was living at the time,” recalled Jane. “I was self-isolating as much as possible due to the Covid lockdown, so we met outside and sat at each end of the wooden bench. “As you can imagine, it didn’t seem very romantic at the time. Last Saturday, 25 colleagues traded site boots for hiking boots to tackle the Edale Skyline Challenge in the Peak District. 🌄 This 20-mile route around Hope Valley is one of the toughest, and our team from head office and site rose to the occasion. Setting off from village of Hope at 8:30 AM, they climbed Win Hill and enjoyed stunning views over Ladybower Reservoir. They trekked across Kinder Scout, Brown Knoll, Mam Tor, and Lose Hill, completing the loop back in Hope with well-deserved refreshments at the Bike and Boot hotel. 🚴♂️🏨 The scenery was spectacular, and the team spirit was unbeatable. Everyone finished the challenge in impressive times between 6 to 9 hours! Despite a few sore feet, it was an incredible adventure and a testament to our team's dedication. History was brought to life for these schoolchildren when archaeologists showed them Roman artefacts discovered at our Lime Gardens development, before construction work began. Pupils at Sutton Bonington Primary School were able to see Roman pottery and coins discovered during an excavation by York Archaeology, who we commissioned to conduct an archaeological evaluation of the site. The school’s headteacher, Paul Allen, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to learn more about our village’s incredible history. They really enjoyed finding out about the items which were discovered during the excavation.” William Davis Homes Group Sales and Marketing Director, Michele Rose, commented: “It was wonderful to see the children learn more about the history beneath their feet.
