  • 🤩 On Saturday, we launched our first Asian market which brought together traders from diverse backgrounds, selling delicious Asian food and sweets, homemade crafts, and beautiful artwork. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to collaborate, connect and support local businesses. It was also a celebration of cultural diversity, featuring sitar performances, Chinese Fan Dancers, Chinese Dragon acts, and energetic Bhangra dance acts. The open and inclusive atmosphere made it a day to remember for all attendees. The success of this event is a reflection of our commitment to excellence. We strive to provide great experiences that bring local businesses, residents and visitors together, and this market was no exception. 📊 💭 🤩 Today our colleagues gathered for a staff briefing, featuring several insightful presentations. We were introduced to our new Assistant Directors, Janice W. (Homes and Neighbourhoods) and Emma Walker (Public Realm). Sue McDaid, Executive Director of Resident Services & Climate Change, also shared important updates on the new housing legislation aimed at maintaining standards in social housing, as well as the latest on complaints from Kirsten Roberts and Temporary Accommodation from Daniel Parsons. Our quarterly staff briefings are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate recent achievements and share crucial updates. Collaboration is one of our CORE values, and these regular gatherings foster open discussions and enhance our teamwork. #LocalGovernment #StaffBriefing #Collaboration
