We have launched a ‘virtual video booth’ which enables patients, relatives and carers to share their experience with our services. This interactive portal is quick, easy to use and one of the most secure ways to capture patient experience stories. The video booth will ask users to record four separate clips, including about them, their experience, how the experience made them feel and what could have been done differently. Leanne Hawker, Head of Patient Experience and Community Involvement, said: “We are an organisation committed to learning and are forever keen for people to tell us about their experience, whether good, bad or indifferent. “Those clips are then reviewed by our Patient Experience and Community Involvement Team to identify any themes". Feedback is important to us and will help us to understand what’s working well and where we can improve. Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/dbTDjEy5

Craig Brown, Clinical Development Lead for Service Transformation at NHS 111 Wales, has shared his inspiring academic journey. Not content with a Cert in Health Studies, a Diploma in Health Emergency Planning, a BSc in Combined Health Studies and an MSc in Computer-Based Learning and Training, the 55-year-old is now pursuing a doctorate in Public Health. But study hasn't always been plain sailing for Craig, who is neurodiverse. “Just because my brain is wired differently, it doesn’t mean I’m any less capable,” says Craig. “If I can do it, others can too.” Well done Craig. 🙌🎉 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/e3fuS_Hw

🙌🎖️We’re delighted and incredibly proud that Mike Jenkins, Consultant Paramedic and Regional Clinical Lead in Cardiff, has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List. Mike has been awarded the prestigious King’s Ambulance Service Medal for distinguished service. He recently celebrated 40 years in the ambulance service. Chief Executive Jason Killens said: “During his lifetime of service, he has remained steadfast in his commitment to improving patient safety, clinical outcomes and the patient’s experience.” We would also like to congratulate retired paramedic Dennis Moss, who has been made an MBE for his services to the Trust and to first aid abroad. Dennis retired in 2016 after more than 40 years of service. Jason said: “Forty years of ambulance service is no mean feat, and the fact that Dennis is still helping those less fortunate is very commendable.” Congratulations to them both! 🎉 Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/en-_Zv-z

An evaluation study of our ‘Blue Light Hub’ gaming app, conducted in partnership with Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, has been published in BMJ Open. The app was created to help young people (aged 7 to 12 years) understand what to do in an emergency. The app launched during the Covid-19 pandemic when face-to-face engagement at schools and community settings were put at a hold. Based on the evaluation and feedback from schools, the app continues to evolve with a CPR game currently in development. Link to BMJ Open article here: https://lnkd.in/evPVehGE
