About us
The Wellcome Genome Campus is home to some of the world's foremost institutes and organisations in genomics and computational biology, committed to delivering life-changing science with the reach, scale, and imagination to solve some of humanity's greatest challenges. The Campus is part of Wellcome, a global charitable foundation that exists to improve health for everyone by helping great ideas to thrive housing the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (WTSI), the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) the bioinformatics outstation of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the Biodata Innovation Centre, Connecting Science,Genomics England. and a number of biotech companies whose UK offices are located in the Biodata Innovation Centre acting as an incubator for businesses of all sizes. Here on Campus we carry out genome and biodata research and provide bioinformatics resources for the global scientific community. We also deliver vital training in genomics and biodata to scientists and clinicians working at the interface of research and industry, translating science into tangible societal benefits. Covering a wide variety of products, tools, and technologies, the Wellcome Genome Campus supports globally important partnerships and projects in genomics and computational biology. For more information about the companies moving in to take office space at this growing hub for genomic research and to get in touch, please visit our website.

Register for our webinar! Advances in genome editing tools are expanding development of new and innovative cell and gene therapies. However, progress through to clinic requires stringent pre-clinical assessments of all off-target #geneediting events to ensure safe and efficacious use in patients. Join our webinar where our CEO, Felix Dobbs, will be sharing an educational session outlining how our cutting-edge INDUCE-seq™ platform is enabling researchers to measure and quantify the specificity of off-target genetic edits and evaluate the associated genetic outcomes. 📆 29 Feb 🕑5pm GMT #CRISPR #Celltherapy #Genetherapy Want to learn more? Broken String Biosciences has today announced that the Company's INDUCE-seq DNA break mapping platform has been used to demonstrate the impact of structural DNA changes on specificity of #CRISPR-Cas9 #geneediting, in new #research published in Molecular Cell. As part of the study, the team analysed the impact of alterations to DNA structure, in the form of negative supercoiling, on off-target effects of Cas9. Using INDUCE-seq, the team confirmed that gene edited cells exhibited up to 10,000 genome-wide off-target events, formed as a result of increased mismatch tolerance.
