About us
WebDepend is a dedicated testing company - we test websites, ecommerce sites, responsive sites, mobile apps and web applications. We've been providing QA services since 2009. We work with brands, businesses and digital agencies, providing functionality, browser/mobile compatibility and user experience testing services. Clients choose us to test their projects because: * We're thorough - we diligently test everything ensuring that the launch of your new website or app is successful and as error-free as possible. * We're flexible - we work within your development process and understand that project timescales can shift around from time to time. * We give a little bit extra - clients tell us that we find more issues and go that bit further to give them additional insight into the quality of their projects. * We alleviate pressure - for clients without dedicated QA resources we take the pressure off project managers and developers to make sure projects are comprehensively tested. * We're experienced - our team has a huge amount of industry experience and WebDepend has been trading for nearly 14 years. * We're easy to work with - we're a friendly bunch, good communicators and we enjoy testing and discovering bugs. Trust us, we'll find a lot of bugs. Our clients include Poundland, Integrate, Filter, Crafter's Companion, NoNameYet and The Thinking Traveller. We have also tested projects for well known automotive manufacturers (3 different manufacturers in fact), FTSE 250 pub brand, market leading drinks companies, blue-chip pharmaceutical companies, major UK & International charities and large restaurant and hotel chains.

WebDepend - QA & testing for agencies, businesses and brands reposted this
One thing development teams often underestimate when bringing a tester into the team for the first time is a big increase in the bugs raised. Seems obvious but for many dev teams it is unexpected. They think that the tester will find the same number of bugs that the team were finding before. Getting the tester in was to save them the time and effort of doing the testing. Of course, easing the burden of testing for the rest of the team is a key benefit of bringing the tester in. But many people underestimate a tester's ability in finding bugs and the result is lots more bugs being found and reported. This can have a knock-on impact to releasing a new feature or launching a new website. At WebDepend, we've unfortunately scuppered a few project timelines, one time we had just started with a new client and were told 'start testing Tuesday and then we should be good to launch the new feature on Thursday'. I did try to tell them that I didn't think that was going to happen. They weren't expecting us to find 80 bugs and, unsurprisingly, the launch had to be postponed. Kind of shows how much testing they were doing before and how many bugs they were finding. On a positive note, when the launch did go ahead a couple of weeks later than planned, it was in a much better shape.

🗣️ We like communication channels to always be open with our customers. In addition to the usual phone, email and video calls (whatever your preferred video call platform), we also set up shared slack channels for each ongoing testing customer to have direct contact with our testing team members working on the project. That way any points to discuss, clarify or bring to attention can be resolved straightaway rather than waiting for the next update call or getting lost in emails. What's your preferred method of keeping in contact during projects? #opencommunication #testingteam #communicationchannels
