Last week’s Digital Transformation EXPO (DTX 360) at Manchester Central saw a stellar cast of speakers take to the stage to share thoughts about their successful careers and the learnings that can be applied to the tech sector.   Among them were master of mind-control Derren Brown; Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson; ex-NCSC & GCHQ chief Ciaran Martin, and xDesign’s very own senior people partner, Ruby Foster. As part of her talk, Tanni Grey-Thompson talked about what it took to get to the top of her sport - with powerful data insights, a coaching team that could interpret and act on the data, and a bucketload of determination all being absolutely vital to her success. She also talked about tech’s role in making society more accessible for all - something she’s been a key proponent of in her work as a member of the House of Lords. Contributing her own insight, Ruby joined a panel event hosted by #DigitalHer called ‘Lift as You Climb - How YOU can be a real champion for inclusion’. She joined other trailblazing women in tech (Emma Grant, Sophie Brown, Tripti Anil and Hilary Stephenson) to discuss why diversity and inclusion in the sector needs to be embraced; how it can be nurtured effectively in an organisational setting; and why to be truly diverse in thought and action, companies need to move away from a ‘once and done’ approach when it comes to key inclusion initiatives. Bottom line: Nurturing diversity in the workforce should be an ongoing process for tech companies.          Thankfully Ruby was able to provide some great examples of the work we’ve done here at xDesign to put our people-first approach into action…every day. #DTXM24 #manchesterevents #manchestertech
