“My emergency department used to have around 115 patients on the screen at a time on a bad day. This is now a good day and we’ve been known to have 300 patients at a time.” We hear stories like this daily - this one came from a Florence nurse in our General Election survey. From that same survey, 80% of Florence nurses and carers said they will definitely or probably vote on July 4th. ➡️ 46% plan to vote Labour vs 12% Conservative ➡️ 40% say conditions have got worse with current leadership ➡️ 68% support a ‘National Care Service’ for social care staff NHS & care staff say they need: 1️⃣ Better pay and working conditions 2️⃣ More funding for the NHS and social care 3️⃣ More training and development opportunities The results spell it out: healthcare is in crisis, and staff are stretched to breaking point. We surveyed Florence nurses and care professionals across the NHS and #SocialCare about their voting intentions at the upcoming #GeneralElection. 📉 12% of people will be voting for the Tories 🤯 80% will be heading to the polls on 4th July 🇬🇧 >2/3 said they wanted to see the establishment of a 'National Care Service' Their biggest health and care priorities are: 1️⃣ Better pay and working conditions 2️⃣ Increase in overall funding for the NHS and Social Care 3️⃣ More training and professional development opportunities for staff One nurse told us: “There are too many patients for the NHS to cope with. My usual emergency department used to have around 115 patients on the screen at a time on a bad day.
