Last Thursday we were listening to Lucky Saint | B Corp™'s Head of Creative, Megan Taylor, in conversation with WWF's Rob Wood, TikTok's Tom Skinner and Lucy Hart, as they shared their case for community reshaping the marketing landscape at UK Creative Festival. They certainly put forward a compelling case for why investing in a dedicated audience base can provide significant returns, and creative freedom. On the same day, the Advertising Association was receiving a delivery of 48 bottles of Lucky Saint, thanks to Grace Hughes & Florence Ridley, who spotted the Lucky Saint giveaway on LinkedIn. You don't always get to see the topic of a panel discussion in action quite so close to home (or office in this case). The giveaway was based around the statistic that, '76% of the UK think cracking open an alcohol-free beer at your desk is totally acceptable'. There has certainly been a shift in the last few years of what it means to socialise at work, and it can be tricky to find a balance when you only spend a certain amount of time in the office – especially if that time is filled with meetings. We look forward to readdressing that balance this afternoon, with a bottle of non-alcoholic beer in hand. Cheers! 🍻

We are back in the office today, and reflecting on our time at UK Creative Festival last week. 🎢 It was a truly inspiring event, bringing together passionate individuals sharing their knowledge and love of the creative industries with those both starting their careers, and those progressing through them. We heard from Joel Midgley, Ruth Boulter, Mathieu Desbrandes & Paula Bloodworth on building campaigns with true purpose and social impact. Damian Bradfield and Russell Tovey discussed the benefits to both artists and brands of successful collaborations. Uncommon Creative Studio's Lucy Jameson and ITV's Susie Braun shared the success of the powerful ITV mental health campaign, which is still making headlines 5 years in. Black Skull Creative's Dan Shipton and BBC Studios's Lee Smithurst gave an insightful summary of the creative power needed to host Eurovision in 2023, and how they were able to unite two different nations in the storytelling. Save the Children UK's Dionysia Navarro, Magnus Alanko and Sara Galvão talked about using creativity for good, and how they navigated a career change from the corporate world into the charity sector, and the impactful campaigns they've been able to deliver as a result. TikTok's Tom Skinner, Lucky Saint | B Corp™'s Megan Taylor, WWF's Rob Wood and Lucy Hart put forward a compelling case for how community will reshape the marketing landscape, and why investing in a dedicated audience base can give you significant returns, and creative freedom. Ross Nicholson, Maddie Dowd and Jo Nolan took us behind the scenes of the TV and film industry to share their experience of crafting a career in production. And these were only the handful of sessions we were able to attend! Thank you to those who came along to our two sessions, 'Building your Passion Project into a Business', where our MD, Donna Head, interviewed our Global Director, Jo Fenn, on her experience starting AdGreen, and 'Calculate Your Creativity', led by our Team Assistant, Tobi G., and Communications Manager, Lauren McGee, where we collaboratively created an ad to showcase the carbon impact of our creative decisions. Not to mention the wonderful team at Factory Studios Ltd, Lou Allen, Harry Boyce, Emily Thomas & James Utting, who picked the perfect sunset spot for dinner. A massive thank you to Sara Maddocks, Magdalena Salawa, Dina Green and Jeremy Green for inviting us to be part of the festival, we will see you back in Margate next year!

How much does it cost to feed 10 people on a shoot? You might know the answer in £'s, but do you know the answer in carbon? Our carbon calculator shows the vast difference between beef and vegan meals, and all the options in between. 🍲 For every individual you can feed with a beef burger, you could be feeding 18 people with veggie burgers, with the same carbon impact. BEEF: 🍔 VEGGIE: 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 🍔 This is why sharing the data behind decisions is so important, as sometimes the figures can speak for themselves.
