Caroline Parkes - Sorry! I failed to respond directly to your comment, but agree. Many many years ago I wrote to Campaign magazine about the ridiculous request from businesses and agencies for new joiners (many focused on grads) to have 2 years experience before they would be considered for an interview. The paradox of how do you get 2 years without working for 2 years? It's how I first connected to the brilliant Dr Juliet Williams CBE who at the time I believe was running the "only" training programme at what was then #BrannDirectMarketing, and our shared passion of creating opportunties for people entering our industry started. Will makes some really good points and I'm proud that the DMA (Data & Marketing Association) UK DMA Talent endeavours to support people into our industry, but there are still many restrictions based on location, with many opportunities still based in the cities.
