👐 We welcomed our newest team members from all parts of the business with our monthly induction event - a day dedicated to immersing in the rich history, culture and flavours that makes Wahaca. From diving into the origin story of Wahaca with our Co-Founder Mark Selby to tasting the freshest Mexican ingredients along with a little bit of tequila tasting (how could we resist? 😋), it was a refreshing deep-dive that left everyone feeling inspired and connected. A huge shout out to our Megan for orchestrating an unforgettable experience and making our team feel welcome each and every time. That just leaves us to say a BIG welcome to our newest team! Here’s to a fun and tasty future together proving to the UK that Mexican food is vibrant and delicious!🌟

The spirit of Wahaca was born from a love of honest Mexican market food, the sense of community that went with it and Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers and Mark Selby’s desire to share this experience with anyone that wants be part of it. Wahaca is a journey from the markets of Oaxaca (Wa-ha-ca), the culinary heart of Mexico, and is a growing, exciting, innovative company. Our aim is to provide an environment as enjoyable for our teams as it is for our guests, by consistently delivering Mexican inspired market food and great service in a lively, vibrant atmosphere. We know we can only achieve this through commitment to our people, this why at Wahaca we live by our values and believe that you should work hard and play harder. And we do. 🌟🔥 Summer just got hotter with our Fiestaval! Our teams turned up the heat, even with the rain trying to crash our parade. From vibrant flower crown stations to dash car races, we kept the energy high and the fun rolling all day. We laughed, we ate, and we conquered (the dance floor and the margarita stand)! 🏆 MASTERCHEF FINAL - WAHACA EDITION 🏆 What an incredible day we had last week at our MasterChef finals! 🌟 We tasted some of the most extraordinary culinary creations, each dish a testament to the passion, skill, and creativity of our talented chefs. From traditional Mexican flavours to innovative fusion dishes, every dish was a journey into taste and culture. 🌮🍤 Our fantastic five - Olin, Laura, Mama, Alejandro, and Hanan - whipped up a storm.🤩 Big shoutout to our judges - Mark Selby, Gemma Glasson, Leonardo da Cruz, and who better to spot the next culinary star than our own MasterChef champion, Thomasina Miers?👩🍳 An enormous well done to all the participants and a massive congratulations to our winner Alejandro who will be going on his very own foodie adventure to feed his inspiration!🎉 #Wahaca #Masterchef

FUELLING THE NEXT GENERATION We believe that all children should have access to nutritious meals and that’s not always the case. We support #KitchenSocial, an inclusive programme tackling the issues of food insecurity and social isolation by supporting over 100 community hubs in London to provide good food and enriching activities to children in their local area. The latest annual Impact Report highlights the great work they do which we are very proud to support ❤️
In the lifetime of a young Londoner, we start with food as the foundation. We are the largest provider of holiday food and activities in the capital, working with community partners in every borough to ensure children facing the biggest barriers not only survive but thrive. With 13 weeks away from school each year, we’re the bridge between term times that keeps young Londoners growing. In 2023, our Food and Communities programmes engaged 54,124 children and young people, providing 471,056 meals. Our 2023 Impact Report reflects our reach and progress through the stories of those we work with, like 12-year-old Shaun on page six. But despite doubling our reach, we still have more to do – as over a third of London’s children are living in poverty – that’s more than 800,000 children.* We are excited by the opportunities we now have to work in partnership with other charities, employers, community partners, and London’s policymakers to create a future where every young person in London can be healthy, happy, and hopeful. GOAAAAAL! ⚽🥅 With England’s first Euros match kicking off this weekend, we wanted to celebrate our very own football stars at Wahaca 🌮 Last month, our very talented team hit the pitch at the Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I Tournament for hospitality businesses, held at Craven Cottage. Whilst our team was knocked out in the quarter-finals, their energy and team spirit were off the charts! They’re our champions, without a doubt 🏆 Thanks for having us Fulham Football Club!

Our team shaking things up at this year’s cocktail competition! 🍹🍸 Every year, we host a cocktail competition where talented mixologists from across all of our restaurants get creative and craft their very own signature serve 🍹 We’re so excited to announce that Cesar J. Da Costa G. from our Edinburgh restaurant, has taken home the win with a delicious green apple Manzanita, inspired by iced lollies from his childhood. Cesar has also made Wahaca history as the very first person to win both our Masterchef and Cocktail competition - what an achievement! 👏 Huge well done to our 10 incredible finalists and to everyone who participated this year.
