Looking forward to welcoming our delegation of British tourism suppliers, tour operators and premium product buyers at our Brazil Roadshow this week. 2023 saw record visits to Britain from Brazil, the largest and most valuable visitor market in South America and with our forecast estimating 349,000 visits worth £435m from Brazil this year, this roadshow is just one example of how we are working with travel trade, the British embassy in Brazil and local PR and influencers, to drive inbound visits and encourage Brazilian visitors to explore our nations and regions. As part of our drive to motivate travel to Britain across the nations and regions in 2024/25, our GREAT Gateway Innovation Fund is now open for applications. If you are an English DDP or LVEP, a Scottish or Welsh DMO, you can apply for one of two funds to promote and market your gateway/region experiences to an international consumer audience in France, Germany or the USA. We partnered with TBO Holidays, one of the world's largest travel distribution platforms, for the annual TBO Travel Business show on 24 September. This event saw 20 tourism suppliers meet with over 400 travel agents from across the UAE. This is part of our wider programme of activity with TBO to increase development and distribution of UK product as well as grow sales to the UK.

What a fantastic press trip in partnership with VisitBritain China 👏 Earlier this month, we welcomed 5 top Chinese travel writers from media publications including National Geographic Traveller magazine, World Traveller Magazine and Cosmopolitan magazine, to enjoy 2 nights in the Peak District & Derbyshire promoting the area’s film & TV links 📺 From tours of historic Chatsworth & The Devonshire Group and Haddon Hall to locally-sourced meals at The Cavendish Baslow, The George Hathersage, The Peacock Rowsley; sampling Bakewell Pudding at The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop; polishing our own piece of Blue John Stone at Treak Cliff Cavern; enjoying a damp but dramatic and no less beautiful guided walk with Peak Walking Adventures; and relaxing in a fantastic overnight base at Wildhive. We managed to squeeze so much into two very full-on days! Thank you to all our brilliant partners who helped to make the trip such a success.
