The Belfry Hotel & Resort has celebrated reaching the highest point in the construction of its flagship events venue, The Masters Suite, with a Topping Out Ceremony which included a golf stunt to attempt to drive the 10th Green of The Brabazon from the roof. The ‘Topping Out Ceremony’, which took place on July 15, saw VINCI Building UK welcome 40 suppliers and contractors to tour the build of the new events space. Standing on the highest point of The Masters Suite, The Belfry were presented with a plaque to mark the completion of the most elevated part of the project. Those attending were invited to drive the 10th green of the world-famous Brabazon golf course from the roof which stands 17m high with a distance to the green of over 240m. At 852sqm, and with 149 additional bedrooms, The Masters Suite will be The Belfry’s biggest events venue yet when it opens in autumn 2025 and is the centrepiece of a wider £80million development project across the whole resort. Designed to host 648 guests for banqueting, and with a max capacity of 920, it is expertly placed to host conferences, product launches, mini expos, award ceremonies, charity dinners and banquets for 600 people or more. On Friday 19 July, we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to mark the development of the new Emergency Department. The development is the biggest investment to healthcare in Swindon since the hospital first opened and followed the opening of the Urgent Treatment Centre and Oxford University Hospitals Radiotherapy Centre on the Great Western Hospital site in 2022. The Emergency Department has a 60% bigger footprint, with more majors cubicles, four more resuscitation bays, two relatives rooms and a new patient health and wellbeing space. The teams also worked with communities including those with dementia, a learning disability or autism, young people, mental health services, wheelchair users and more to ensure that the Emergency Department is inclusive and accessible for all. The project has been delivered by #IHP, the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine. NHS England NHS Estates and Facilities #ProCure23 #healthcare

A significant milestone has recently been reached in the refurbishment of Edward Street Hospital with Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Integrated Health Projects (#IHP) hosting a ‘topping out ceremony’ to signify the highest point of construction of the new building. To mark the occasion, the project leads of the Trust and IHP, the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, delivering the construction of the refurbishment, celebrated with staff and partners on their commitment to improving healthcare and the realisation of the significant impact the scheme will bring to local residents and the wider community. With the topping out phase completed, the focus now shifts towards the interior construction and installation of advanced medical equipment. https://lnkd.in/enspwUDU #healthcare #NHS NHS England NHS Estates and Facilities #ProCure23

Hugely impressive reports on our Countess of Chester Hospital, Christie TIF Wards and North View projects resulted in a 45/45 Considerate Constructors Scheme monitor’s report. All sites are reportedly being kept to an “excellent standard” and are successfully aligning with the CCS guidelines. The scoring system comprises three distinguished categories: #RespectingtheCommunity, #CaringfortheEnvironment, and #ValuingtheWorkforce. Each category is given a score out of 15, which all projects earned the top marks in. The monitoring reports also include specific comments upon each category and the project’s ability to display the #CCS values. The Countess of Chester Hospital project, for instance, was praised in the report for the “excellence compliance” with the proper site practice, along with their strategy being “Well delivered on site”. The Christie TIF Wards project received similar levels of praise, as the team “ensured a high level of liaison” and incorporated “robust systems” to manage their environment impact. Our North View project in Crumpsall received a 45/45 score for their final CCS visit. The project is in the final stages of completion of a #MentalHealthFacility. These outstanding reports epitomise how our company’s project teams embody the necessary safety and attention to detail needed for such substantial projects and demonstrate a real passion for the Industry. We are immensely proud of all those that were involved.

Integrated Health Projects (IHP) and the NHS team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have picked up a prestigious award for Integration and Collaborative Working at this year’s Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards. The team were crowned the winners due to their collaborative approach to designing and delivering the new Urgent and Emergency Care Department in Scarborough, which has involved full engagement of all project partners – including client representatives, designers, contractors, and supply chain specialists. As regional award winners, the team will now go on to represent Yorkshire and Humber at the national Constructing Excellence Awards Final, in London, later in the year. Integrated Health projects (#IHP) has begun building the first of two new multi-storey car parks for Barts Health NHS Trust. The car park is due to be completed in August 2025. We are delighted to announce that Integrated Health Projects (IHP) has been recognised with two Highly Commended Awards at the European Healthcare Design (EHD) Conference Awards 2024 ceremony. The Christie Paterson Building Development was Highly Commended in the Health and Life Sciences category; more than just a building, the Paterson houses world-leading scientists, clinicians and operational staff in a new £150m cancer research centre completed last year. It is part of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre and is one of the top cancer research facilities in the world. The building, partly funded by The Christie Charity is part of a partnership between The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, The University of Manchester, and Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Aspen Wood is a new 40 bed specialist learning disability unit and provides care for those who need the lowest level of security appropriate for them. It was delivered for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and was Highly Commended in the Mental Health Design category. The EHD Awards attract submissions from around the world including Europe, United States of America, Canada, Australia, Middle East and China. The judging panel includes eminent international healthcare design professionals, so these awards clearly demonstrate the exceptional quality of these IHP projects and the dedication of our teams who worked on them. At the EHD Conference, Stuart Pepper (CRUK), Matthew Hird (BDP) and James Chimeura (Arup), also delivered a fantastic presentation on the Paterson Building, complimenting the design and construction team on delivering an impressive building, and how they were able to restart their ‘science’ just four days after handover. Well done to all involved. #IHP is the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine. NHS Estates and Facilities #NHS NHS England #awards ged couser
