#ces2024 ... two deep-tech topics popped out: 1. Next-gen chip designs - a flurry of activity seeking to address the efficiency needs of AI-enabled applications.  Big topic with a geopolitical dimension. 2. Software Defined Vehicles - the transportation industry's late but full embrace of the topic.  A fundamental change is underway, and it's the area where Tesla is actually already miles ahead. Lots of other interesting topics, such as integrating GPTs/LLMs in anything really.  But making transportation platforms software-defined and turning them virtually into iPhones on wheels goes beyond UX toys, as it is the enabler for much larger new and diversified revenue pools, service-centered business models, protection against technological obsolence, and new ways vehicles are designed. The non-trivial topic involves high performance compute, multi-domain controllers, software lifecycle management, software / hardware abstraction, cybersecurity, just to mention a few.
