Recently, two of our STEM Ambassadors participated in the Passion for learning C.I.O careers carnival, which drew in 310 local school children. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved, thank you to Passion for Learning for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful day.

Recently, two teams from Urenco Capenhurst undertook the challenging Keswick to Barrow and Coinston to Barrow hike/run. A big congratulations to all participants who completed the challenge, and well done for raising more than £1000 for RNLI and Cancer Research!

Yesterday we held a safety day on site as part of our continuous commitment to #safety, which drew an exceptional turnout of over 500 employees. Doug Annan, Managing Director, welcomed everyone and expressed his commitment to ensuring everyone on site remains safe, while Bridget Sparrow, Chief Operating Officer, recounted her experiences regarding safety throughout her varied career. We were pleased to welcome Gwen Parry-Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Great British Nuclear, and Darren Mort, President of Bechtel Corporation, who both shared how their experiences of previous incidents had shaped their views on safety. Darren commented ‘I left the event feeling inspired by the passion that Urenco, its suppliers, and Bechtel share to make sure everyone returns home safely every day. The words so eloquently spoken by Gwen Parry-Jones about the complacency cycle and the need to stay alert really hit the mark.’

We could not be the company we are without our shift workers, who keep our sites running 24/7 across four countries. Their work makes it possible for us to create the fuel that nuclear reactors need to produce clean energy⚡ So on #ShiftWorkersDay, we thank you! 💙

We’re pleased to confirm investment from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to build an advanced fuels facility at our Capenhurst site. This will help power the next generation of nuclear reactors, providing both energy security and the advancement towards a #netzero future.
