#YC W24 Post Mortem Dalton Caldwell parted ways with the batch by sharing some wisdom on how to stay alive with our startups post Y Combinator. Some quotes I love the most from his parting words: "Stay sane and don't let your startup die" "Building a large startup from this day onward feels more like not "blowing yourself up" than anything else" "Statistics plays in your favor for founders who kept their companies alive for >2 years" - Time in the game significantly increase the odd of success, so try doing everything to just hang on and stick around. "Lift heavy stone, make sad head voice quiet." "Think of being a startup founder as a series of mini games. For each mini game, the goal is to make it to the next game. The game all will use different skills, and often the next game will use completely different skills." Upsolve AI (YC W24) helps companies build and offer analytics to their customers. Building useful customer-facing analytics and reporting is hard. Traditional dashboards go stale rapidly and are highly restrictive. And just seeing analytics doesn’t mean end users will actually do anything with them. Upsolve allows you to build dashboards by simply asking AI questions and via point-and-click. You can theme the dashboards based on your design system and embed them as native components in your product. Before founding Upsolve AI, Ka Ling Wu and Serguei Balanovich worked at Palantir where they experienced the pain of creating customizable and dynamic analytics (at times from the frontline at factories and assembly lines!). After their time at Palantir, they saw firsthand how complex and resource-intensive it is to build these analytics from the ground up at different startups. They decided that no business should be limited by its analytics-building capabilities and every single end user should be enabled to make informed decisions based on their data — and Upsolve AI was born.
