Panic escape hardware gives people easy escape from a building with a single action of pushing the release bar. Sometimes chains and padlocks are added to them in an attempt to increase security. This means people cannot escape in an emergency. Look for alarms and other approved accessories to complement the escape hardware range to safely increase perimeter security. Panic hardware is designed to keep the door locked, but open easily when it is needed. If you need to keep a door open for operational reasons, always use certified solutions. Look for EN 1155 certified hold-open closers or other devices that will release automatically in an emergency, ensuring the door closes when it's needed most.
