To have the opportunity at UK Power Networks to engage with the concept of #Intersectionality, and the platform to share it in Utility Week, is mind-blowing to me. Honestly, the nerd in me is just so excited that I get to not just discuss feminist theory at work, but to apply it! If you're not familiar with intersectionality, please read my article and do further research, engage in thoughtful discussions. If the concept is known to you, I hope you're as thrilled as I am that that it is gaining recognition, and please keep talking about it. If you're doing any work on intersectionality in the utility sector, please reach out to me as I'd love to hear about it. Massive thanks also to Nickhil Sharma for sharing his expertise and undertaking fantastic work in this space!

🏠 The National Infrastructure Commission visited our major project in Biggleswade which will serve power to thousands of homes and businesses in the area. ⚡ The Biggleswade project is part of Central Bedfordshire Council’s initiative to support planned housing growth and includes a National Grid 400kv substation to help provide the electrical infrastructure. The commission saw where UK Power Networks are building a substation to power the new homes and recently completed the installation of new outdoor 132,000-volt switchgear equipment. 🌲 The site is now being prepared for the planting of more than 8,000 trees, 2,000 hedging plants and more than 1,200 shrubs from October onwards.
