🌟 UX24 Session Spotlight 🌟 Get in early: UX and Evidence-based procuring An appetite for risk-averse procured locked-down platforms appears to be a trend in the HE sector. This is a challenge for usability as often we lose control to a third-party and problems cannot be fixed. How do we ensure they offer good UX and meet accessibility guidelines? Join Chris Sherwood, Quality Assurance and User Experience Lead from Swansea University to explore case students and gain valuable insights into effective approaches. 📅 Don’t miss out! There is still time to secure your spot via our website before 19th August 2024 to take advantage of the discounted rates! https://lnkd.in/e7VrK_Vq #UX24 #HE #FE #events #education #connect #share #transform

📣 New Webinar! 📣 E-waste is the fastest growing solid waste stream in the world. Universities have a huge amount of generic IT kit. You may through experience be aware of the amount of redundant but still serviceable kit in your university's offices and departments. Gathering this up affords the opportunity to put it to further use, or to process it in a more value-adding and sustainable manner. The former reduces the amount of kit which will be purchased, whilst both options divert e-waste from landfill or worse. There are strong reasons for having a drive to gather and process unused and unwanted IT kit, but how to go about this? The University of Manchester recently ran its first IT kit amnesty week and would like to share with you the reasoning, planning, practicalities, and lessons learnt from this exercise, as well as hearing about your own experiences. Join David Barrett, Head of Desktop, Print and Support from University of York and John Vass-De-Zomba,IT Environmental Sustainability Manager, University of Manchester for an insightful session on IT Kit Amnesties.
