Happy 716 Day from Twipes! The Twipes team is proud to be celebrating our first year in Buffalo! After hopping across the pond from the U.K. to America with 43North, we have become increasingly involved in our new community and across the country. Over the past year, our team has participated in nationwide events, all the way from Los Angeles with PopSugar, Inc. Playground to New York City with Morgan Stanley Demo Day. Our founders Alborz Bozorgi and Ellenor McIntosh have also been featured on local Buffalo news stations, podcasts, and in media publications, including Leading Edge Only, Buffalo Spree Publishing, Inc. and Black Business Magazine. Since moving to the States, our team has grown to fifteen people, and this past March, Twipes launched in our first retail store, Thistle & Shamrock, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We have also participated in a number of startup learning programs in the U.S. and beyond, including a startup package from Wirtschaftsagentur Wien. Thank you to 43North and to all of our supporters for making our journey possible. We are looking forward to continuing our growth and development in America!

As the Twipes team embraces this vibrant summer season, we are excited to introduce our 2024 interns who bring fresh perspectives and energy to our team! Joining us are Madison Batiz, Ari Klein, Makayla Martin, and Ava Steiner, alongside the return of Elizabeth Dodman and Tabitha Raithel, who has joined our team full-time. Founded by Alborz Bozorgi and Ellenor McIntosh on the principles of mentorship and innovation, Twipes offers interns real-world projects and collaboration opportunities with seasoned professionals. This summer, the interns will dive into the complexities of the wet wipe industry, contributing with their diverse backgrounds and ideas to drive innovation. Our team is committed to fostering a supportive environment where curiosity thrives and relationships flourish beyond the internship. At Twipes, diversity fuels creativity, enriching our workplace culture and inspiring new solutions. We are excited to embark on this journey, creating a space where everyone can learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact!

Twipes are back in Vienna! The Twipes team was invited to be a part of the Vienna Business Agency's Startup Package along with fourteen other businesses from across the globe. This month-long program helps developed startups learn more about Viennese markets and business strategies. During the last week of the program, called #ViennaUP, the team had an amazing week full of conferences and workshops where they became immersed in the Vienna startup culture and got to learn from other startup leaders and mentors. This summer, Twipes are continuing to integrate into the Buffalo community! The Twipes team recently attended the gallery opening for “Kids' Table” from the Hunt Residencies Cohort V at C. Stuart and Jane H. Hunt Art Gallery downtown, where our co-founder Alborz Bozorgi is a proud board member. The team loved taking in this amazing display, while also enjoying some delicious food from Edgy Vegy Buffalo. Thank you to gallery manager Christina Buscarino, Peter Hunt and Mary Jo Hunt, fellow board members, and everyone else behind the scenes for making this beautiful exhibit possible. Twipes are back at Water Dragons! In 2018, our co-founders, Alborz Bozorgi and Ellenor McIntosh, won the Proof of Concept competition at Water Dragons in London. Two years later, they were named finalists in the main competition. On Monday, Al spoke to this year's finalists about our truly flushable wet wipes and Twipes' mission to protect global water systems, as well as the importance of being mindful to care for our planet. A huge thank you to Hannah Spencer for coordinating Al's video appearance! Thank you also to Future Water and Canada House for hosting, and to Hydrosave (UK) Ltd and WRc Group for being supporting partners of this year's Water Dragons competition.

Huge thank you to 716 Together and Cumulus Media Buffalo for featuring our founders, @Al Bozorgi and @Ellenor McIntosh, on the podcast! Al and Elle discussed Twipes’ mission to better the environment as the world’s first truly flushable and biodegradable wet wipes. “When we say truly flushable, we mean we’re not going to clog your sewers, we’re not going to block your toilets, we’re not going to cause any problems,” Elle said. “And when we say we’re biodegradable, we're going to give you the actual context of how long it takes to biodegrade which is seven days…It’s the same amount of time as a banana peel. This week, members of the Twipes team stopped into Mayor Byron W. Brown’s office for the city’s Toiletry Donation Drive benefitting Buffalo, New York’s Code Blue Shelters and Buffalo City Mission.   Twipes donated 200 packs of our toilet-friendly wet wipes to the drive to support those in need.   CEO Alborz Bozorgi and CMO Cassandra Kubiak, M.S. met with Sameria Mbili from AmeriCorps and Malika Lee, who organized the drive, as well as Deputy Mayors Dr. Callie Johnson, PhD and Rashied McDuffie, Esq.
