  • An opportunity has arisen for a self- motivated, conscientious individual to join our team in position of Quantity Surveyor. Reporting to the Directors, the main purpose of this role will be to ensure Commercial and Contractual control and coordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of multiple Brickwork and Scaffolding projects running simultaneously at differing stages of the contract life cycle. You will also provide support to other members of the Operational and Quantity Surveying teams, and Directors on all aspects relating to Commercial activity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Applications for Payment : Prepare, submit and track applications for payment, ensuring all claims are accurate and processed promptly in line with contractual agreement. · Cost, value, reconciliations (CVRs): Regularly conduct CVRs to monitor the projects financial status, ensuring all costs are accounted for and reconciled against budgeted projections. · Timely submissions of variations and early warnings: Manage and report any changes to the contract or potential risks promptly, minimising financial impact and ensuring continuous project progression. · Monitor projects cost: Keep track of all project costs, analysing variances and reporting discrepancies to project budget over runs. · Negotiate variations: Negotiate any necessary contract modifications with clients and sub-contractors to accommodate changes in projects scope or specifications. THE PERSON · Ideally educated to degree or HND level in either Quantity Surveying or Construction Commercial Management, coupled with a proven experience in a similar role within Construction. · An understanding of working with NES forms of contract. · Working knowledge of basic plant, equipment and materials. · Knowledge and understanding of procurement and general sub-contracting principles together with the ability to draft and administer sub-contracts. · Ability to implement procedures to quantify and cost Construction work including the use of appropriate measures of measurement. · Proficiency in administration, communication, reporting, numeracy, I.T and MS office etc. · An ability to build effect relations at all levels both internally and externally. · Proven ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. · Previous experience of scaffolding and brickwork desirable but not essential A highly attractive basic salary (permanent), bonuses and a competitive benefits package is on offer to the successful candidate along with longevity and security of work.
