The group provides opportunities for young adults with support needs to get involved in gardening and enjoy being in the great outdoors. Alex McDonald (aka Chef), our resident plant guru who oversaw the recent planting on the Upper Achintore housing development, was on hand to provide advice and information to the group on the wide range of bedding, shrubs and hedging plants which the gardeners now plan to plant all over Fort William. Working with the community in the Plantation and with the residents’ groups in Caol and Claggan, they can’t wait to get planting and hope that all these gorgeous perennials will bring pleasure to local people and visitors alike for many years to come. Our MD Andy Knight visited our Mowi Ardessie site today to host an informal event with the workforce. This is the 4th event of its type held in the past 2 weeks intended to give staff an update on the company’s activities. Impressed with every site he has visited on his tour so far, Ardessie did not disappoint and in Andys words “these sites are so tidy and a real credit to everyone that has been working on them.”

It was a pleasure to attend Oban High School Business Breakfast & Career Day this week showcasing all the exciting opportunities that TSL has to offer young people who might fancy a career in Construction or Civil Engineering. Special thanks to our star performers Joiner Apprentice Bailey Wild who is in the final year of his apprenticeship & Eva McIntyre who plans to study Business Enterprise & Economics at Uni so is working the Summer with us to find out more about the ins & outs of our business. Both Bailey & Eva were bursting with information & enthusiasm whilst engaging with the children at the school & their energy was contagious – so much so that we are fully expecting an army of young people applying to join our troops as soon as they get the chance – amazing job guys!
