Our Stamford, Connecticut team recently volunteered with SoundWaters, a non-profit dedicated to educating young people about water conservation. We prepared for a visit from 60 elementary students and enjoyed a 'thank-you sail' on SoundWaters’ schooner. At Tronox, we believe in making a positive impact where we live and work, and it was a rewarding experience to help empower the next generation of environmental stewards.

Last month, our Northern Operations team in Australia, alongside their families and dedicated volunteers from Chittering Landcare, gathered for our 23rd annual tree-planting event at the Chandala site. Together, we planted an incredible 4,000 native rushes and sedges, contributing to the health of the riparian habitat and boosting local biodiversity. Our commitment to sustainability shines through initiatives like this, which help maintain and enhance the ecosystems around our facilities. In total, we've now planted over 180,000 trees! We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated and made this day memorable. With trees playing such a crucial role in our environment—from purifying air and water to supporting biodiversity and even aiding in medicine—our efforts are truly impactful.

The United Kingdom Committee on Toxicology has delivered an opinion on the safety of food-grade titanium dioxide (TiO₂), known as E171. The TDMA is pleased to have been able to provide evidence to the Committee to help it create a science and evidence-based conclusion. The TDMA welcomes the opinion from the UK and aims to support further inquiries about the use of TiO₂ across different applications where possible. #TitaniumDioxide #TiO2 #E171 https://lnkd.in/eNsNu8nn

Our Namakwa Sands, South Africa site recently hosted 14 second-year Chemical Engineering students from the University of Cape Town for a three-day visit. The students had the opportunity to visit all three locations of the Namakwa Sands operations, including the mineral separation plant, the Brand-se-Baai mine, and the smelter facilities. During the visit, the students engaged in theoretical and hands-on learning activities, gaining practical insights into their fields of study. We enjoyed their enthusiasm and look forward to the bright future ahead for these engineers.

We are proud to share that Tronox has been recognized as a finalist in the Paint & Pintura Magazine Innovation and Sustainability Award for our circular economy innovation. Our Unreacted Ore (MNR) project, which transforms 50% of our TiO₂ production waste into valuable materials for civil construction, secured second place. This initiative, developed in collaboration with ABRAFATI, not only diverts waste from landfills but also creates environmental and business value, driving positive impact across our industry.

Our Australian team recently played a key role in making the Science and Engineering Challenge and Discovery Days the biggest yet. Held near our Bunbury Pigment Plant in Australind, the event brought in nearly 1,300 attendees, including students from 19 high schools and 16 primary schools. With the support of 20 local industries, volunteer groups and politicians, Tronox helped bring science and engineering to life for Year 10 and Year 5/6 students. The Challenge Day encourages high school students to pursue STEM subjects, while Discovery Day introduces younger students to the wonders of science and engineering. We are proud to work together to inspire the next generation of innovators!

A job well done to those who hit the road for a 100 km charity bike ride alongside the British Coatings Federation, all in support of the Community Heartbeat Trust.
Today a group of us at Tronox took part in a 100 km charity bike ride with the British Coatings Federation raising money for the Community Heartbeat Trust. The trust supports rural communities turn phone boxes into defibrillators which could be life savers. It was a fantastic event and any donations to support the cause would be much appreciated 🚲 Donation link: https://lnkd.in/ecjyzyba
