Building a wall is like teamwork - it requires a strong foundation. Last week, volunteers from our Leicester office supported the Bradgate Park Trust by helping to repair and maintain their stone walls. The stone walls represent decades of history and provide a defined boundary keeping deer within. They also supply habitats to many important species and are a highly visible and recognised feature of the park. At TMHCC we offer a wide range of team volunteering opportunities throughout the year. All employees can take two days of paid leave for volunteering, enabling them to support causes that matter to them. To find out more, click here: https://ow.ly/8pBw50TyCIJ #BelongAtTMHCC #TMHCC

We’ve concluded the first day of GCube’s Advisory Council 2024 in Newport Beach, CA. This year’s agenda has grown and adapted, offering a dynamic platform for leaders in the US renewables insurance sector to discuss the latest market developments and risks. While it’s difficult to capture every important discussion from Day One, here are a few key highlights: Our CEO, Fraser McLachlan, opened with an overview of the global renewables insurance market, noting that we’re in one of the fastest-growing phases for renewables. While the future is bright, risks remain that could hold the industry back. John Leonti, Partner at Troutman Pepper, delivered the keynote on the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) on the US renewables market, highlighting its success in positioning the US as a key global player. The next administration will need to focus on supporting transmission and emerging technologies. The ‘Batteries Not Excluded: Getting Comfortable with BESS’ panel featured Landis K., GCube, Roberto Benzan, a specialist global risk management, and Geraldine Kerrigan, CAC Specialty, discussing insurance challenges for BESS. During the panel, Roberto Benzan and Geraldine Kerrigan noted that fire risk is somewhat exaggerated and outdated, as the industry has done well in recent years to address this issue. However, Landis K. emphasised that from a liability perspective, fire remains a key concern, with significant consequences for large-scale BESS projects. Finally, Roy Muñoz and Chris Bender from GCube led our fireside chat, ‘Better Call Roy,’ where they explored some of the most unique and challenging global claims from the past 12 months. The pair provided a unique insight into renewables losses caused by unusually severe weather in the UAE in April 2024, emphasising how a lack of weather stations in the region contributed to misunderstandings about local weather patterns. Many thanks to all of our speakers. We’re looking forward to kicking off Day Two shortly! #renewable #energy #insurance

The coast is clear since our beach is cleaner. 🚯🏖️ Litter has a devastating impact on coastal and ocean ecosystems, with millions of marine creatures dying each year as a result. Sarah Cracroft & Vickie Fox from TMHCC joined forces with TUE and H&R Insurance Services to tackle this issue with a Balmedia Beach clean in Aberdeen, removing rubbish from the biosphere and protecting the wildlife within it. A big thank you to Aberdeenshire Council for their support. To find out more about how we support our local communities, click here: https://ow.ly/AacM50TyUXE #BelongAtTMHCC

Scaling new heights 🧗 Last week, two of our employees took part in the Lloyd's charity abseil, descending nearly 300 feet down the iconic Lloyd’s building alongside colleagues from our sister company Tokio Marine Kiln. It was a great chance to collaborate with our colleagues from the Tokio Marine Group family. Not only did they conquer great heights, but they also raised awareness and funds for the The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. A huge congratulations to our team and thank you to all of those who generously supported them. #BelongAtTMHCC #TMtogether
